Wurster, Weiner at the Coffee House

Last updated 10/13/2014 at 5:38pm

The Coffee House at the South Side Presbyterian Church on Friday, Oct. 17, 7:30 – 9 p.m., features two talented artists on the same stage live in person.

South Sider Michael Wurster will be sharing some of his poetry; a well-published poet, poetry teacher, and founding member of the Pittsburgh Poetry Exchange, Mr. Wurster will surely bring a combination of inspiration, humor, and truth.

Bill Weiner (aka “The Monongahela Sheik”) has had a unique passion for the early blues most of his life. Mr. Weiner has been playing for decades, solo and in several bands. He is a virtuoso blues guitarist, who plays with a raggedy style that combines strumming and picking along with offbeat stories. His guitar is an acoustic steel string 1939 Martin 018.

The suggested donation of $5 includes the performances, candlelight conversation, and free refreshments. The artists also plan to have DVDs, CDs, and books available for purchase and signing.

The Coffee House is held at the South Side Presbyterian Church at the corner of South 20th and Sarah Streets (1926 Sarah St) in South Side. For more information, call 412-431-0118.
