Councilman serves sundaes at senior center

Creating the banana splits at the Henry Kaufman Center were (from left) Councilman Bruce Kraus, Neil Manganaro, Kevin Kerr and Donna Wielock.

Councilman Bruce Kraus and his staff hosted an "Ice Cream Social" at the Henry Kaufmann Center in an effort to lift the spirits of the Allentown Senior Citizen Centers, Inc. older adult programs in the building.

Allentown's "Hilltop" seniors, who lost their space due to the fire at Hilltop United Methodist Church on August 28 are currently receiving all services, including lunch, programs, and activities, at Henry Kaufmann Center, 2201 Salisbury Street, in Arlington.

Councilman Kraus praised the group for supporting the center during a challenging transition. The councilman and his staff served approximately 60 banana splits to all of the seniors attending that day, including the Allentown Adult Day Services gang.

Everyone gave the hosts three cheers for their efforts. "That was fantastic," exclaimed Suzanne Troy as she left for the day.
