14th annual StepTrek coming on October 4
Registration is now open for the 14th annual Pittsburgh Step Trek set for Saturday, Oct. 4 at South Side Park, Josephine and 21st streets, on South Side.
The self-guided urban hike takes participants throughout the South Side Slopes, up and down more than 2,000 city steps. In addition to serving as a guide to the route, the program book highlights neighborhood landmarks and gives a brief history of the stairs and buildings. The Pittsburgh Step Trek is a family and pet-friendly event also includes the StepTrek Market Place featuring food trucks and entertainment.
This Step Trek also benefits The Brashear Association’s Food Pantry. “Trekers” are asked to bring a canned food item to help stock the food pantry. Top items needed include: Peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, tuna, cereal and baby food.
Cost of the Step Trek is $12 for adults and children under 12 are free. Registration and a t-shirt is available for $25.
