Help a child learn to read by becoming an OASIS tutor.
No teaching experience is necessary. Free training will be given to mature adults 50 and over. All materials, books, and supplies are provided by OASIS at no cost. Ongoing education is offered at no charge.
Tutors volunteer at one of our over 24 schools in Pittsburgh Public and Woodland Hills School Districts.
Training sessions will be held at Macy’s downtown store on August 20 and 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
For more information on how to become an OASIS tutor, call John D. Spehar, M.Ed, Pittsburgh OASIS Tutoring Coordinator at 412-232-2021.
OASIS works in partnership with Pittsburgh Literacy Council.
