Plants disappearing from garden in Mt. Oliver City neighborhood

Suzanne Photos, Mt. Oliver City/St. Clair Block Watch coordinator, reported first that three daisy bushes have been stolen from the flower bed at Cresswell and Mountain in the early afternoon on April 11.

She arrived just in time to see a woman in a black raincoat with a hood driving away in a black SUV with her plants.

At her own expense, she replaced the stolen daisy bushes with two forsythia bushes, but they were also stolen sometime between 8:30 p.m. May 14 and 2:30 p.m. on May 15.

“I checked the area last evening as I was going to weed and trim today and Houdini . . . they are gone,” she said.

Ms. Photos wasn’t sure she would replant for a third time. However, she said the block watch is considering placing cameras in the area to catch the thief.
