Dates set for Spring Earth Day Redd Up

Spring isn’t around the corner.  Winter’s here now. But dates are set for the Spring Earth Day Redd Up Weekend. The big day will be Saturday, Apr. 26.

The date will not conflict with Easter Sunday, Apr. 20.  Earth Day is Tuesday, Apr. 22

Citizens Against Litter coordinated dates with Keep PA. Beautiful.

“We realize many communities and groups cannot have their litter clean ups on the target date,” said Boris Weinstein, event coordinator.  “Participation on or about the target date is fine with us.”

Duquesne University student volunteers, for example, will be working with South Side Flats and Slopes and Hill District and Uptown neighborhoods on Saturday, Apr. 12.

Most Hilltop neighborhoods are already committed.

“Our participation goal is for most of the city’s 90 neighborhoods to participate along with as many as 250 communities and groups and 15,000 volunteers in the area,” said Mr. Weinstein.

For more information, contact or call 412-688-9120.  Individuals can be matched up with their preferred neighborhood.
