LifeSpan asks for cookie donations

Remember the wonderful smell of Grandma’s cookies baking in the oven and just waiting to taste one of each variety?

Many area elderly have stated this is one of the holiday traditions they miss the most. They can no longer bake their own cookies which was a large part of their holiday tradition. LifeSpan and its Elder-ado centers is asking for help in its fourth annual “Sweet Holiday Wishes” Cookie Donation Campaign.

LifeSpan is asking for holiday cookie donations for their very special Home Delivered Meal participants this Holiday Season. While everyone is baking their own holiday treats, they’re asking them to add a dozen or two to donate to LifeSpan.

They need 275 dozen cookies in order to gift half a dozen homemade treats to brighten the holiday season of their participants. This is the second year they are inviting the community to participate.

Cookie donations must be delivered to LifeSpan no later than Friday, Dec. 16. Call 412-464-1300 for the address of your local LifeSpan Community Resource Center, HDM Kitchen, or drop off at the LifeSpan Administration offices at 314 East 8th Avenue, Homestead.
