City will hold hearings on 2014 Capital Budget

The City of Pittsburgh will hold two public hearings to seek public comment from interested citizens, community organizations and the business community on the 2014 Capital Budget.

The hearing will be held prior to the release of the 2014 draft Capital Budget to enable the city to adequately review citizen testimony. These hearings are separate from the 2014 Community Development Block Grant Program hearings.

Each year, citizens have the opportunity to make public comment at budget hearings that inform key decision-makers about what is needed in the communities. Community priorities and feedback are vital to directing the city’s resources appropriately, in order to provide effective stewardship of the infrastructure and maintenance of the public’s assets.

Both hearings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be at the following locations:

Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Brighton Heights Senior Center, 3515 McClure Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.

Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Beechview Senior Center, 1555 Broadway Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216.

Anyone interested in signing up to give testimony at the hearings should contact Jennifer Sample at 412-255-2640 or
