Allentown Pop-Up programs for area teens and families

The Allentown Pop-up library, 1206 Arlington Avenue, has a variety of programs for kids and families in the neighborhood.

Art Club: Cell Phone Case will take place on Saturday, June 8 from noon to 1 p.m. Come in for an easy art project for kids, teens, and tweens at CLP Pop Up’s Art Club. No membership required.

For June 8 they’ll have an easy sewing craft making cases for cell phones (or iPods, calculators, marbles, whatever really) out of fabric scraps.

Family Movie Evening is planned for Thursday, June 13 from 5 - 7 p.m. and will continue once a month throughout the summer. Come in to watch a family friendly movie featuring some of your favorite insects. (Children must be accompanied by an adult.)

Refreshments will be served.

Teen Time is on Fridays from June 14 though Friday, August 23 from 3 - 5 p.m.

The Pop-Up has set aside a couple of hours just for teens. Every Friday from 3-5 p.m. throughout the summer, the pop-up welcomes kids in middle school and high school only.

The iPads, Xbox, laptops and other library resources will be made available only for teens during this time and there will be fun craft projects too. Once a month they’ll also have a Teen Book Talk, discussing popular teen fiction and each participant will get their own copy to keep.

Registration for Teen Book Talk is required.

Email the LYNCS Department for more information: CLPLYNCS@carnegielibrary.

Family Fun: Dig Into Art will take place on Wednesday, June 19 from 11 a.m. to noon. Join the Pop-Up staff for a morning of creativity and exploring. Children of all ages and their families are welcome to join in a morning of digging up fun.
