Sign language interpretation at Hot Metal Bridge Faith

The Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community is now providing American Sign Language interpretation by a professional interpreter on Sunday mornings at their 11:30 a.m. worship gatherings.

The service is followed by a free lunch.

“Our goal is to welcome everyone by removing as many barriers as possible that keep people from participating in Christian community,” said Mike Holohan, director of ministries at the church. “By removing this language barrier we hope to welcome more folks from the deaf community.”

In addition to interpreting the music, prayers, and sermons of the worship service the interpreter will also be present for the mealtime to help facilitate conversations over lunch between deaf and hearing worshippers.

The Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community is at the corner of 27th and Jane streets in South Side. The 48 and 75 bus lines have stops nearby and parking for cars and bicycles is available on-site.

The church can be reached at 412-481-4010, via email to, or on the web at
