Allentown Pop-up programs for computers and ukuleles


The Allentown Pop-up library, 1206 Arlington Avenue, is offering a variety of programs for people of all ages.

Open Office takes place on Mondays from 1-3 p.m. In addition, on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1-3 p.m. library staff can help with computer assistance in the following applications and tasks: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Setting up a free email account; Finding information on the internet using a search engine; resume assistance; and, job search assistance.

Silly Story Time is on Fridays from 11-11:30 a.m. Toddlers and preschoolers are welcome at the Allentown Pop Up Library for songs, fingerplay and stories.

Strum Fun Thursday is on Feb. 21 from 3:30 – 4 p.m. Ukulele basics will be covered, including different types of strums, and even a few pop tunes. Those who don’t own ukulele may borrow one of the Pop-ups.

The Pop-Up Hours are Mondays and Thursdays noon – 8 p.m., with evening hours 6 -8 p.m. for adults. (Children are allowed in the evenings only if accompanied by adults); and Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
