Library works on five-year-plan

September 11, 2012

After nine months of collaboration amongst board, staff and community members, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's next Five-Year Strategic Plan is ready to preview.

This interactive workshop at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – East Liberty, 130 S. Whitfield Street, 15206 on Saturday, Sept. 15, 10 a.m. – noon is open to all ages. Past participants and newcomers to the process are welcome.

More than 300 community leaders and residents contributed feedback during a nine month process. The first round of strategic planning discussions, held in February and March, explored opportunities for the Library in four core areas: The Library in the City; The Future of Libraries; Library Funding and Fundraising; and Connecting with our Community.

Workshops held in July during Part Two of the process refined these opportunities. Based on the input from these discussions, teams have worked to compile and synthesize the information gathered in order to formulate a draft plan.

Detailed summaries of prior sessions as well as a final draft of the plan are available at
