Schmotzer sending staff into neighborhoods
July 24, 2012
State Rep. Martin Michael
Schmotzer, D-Allegheny, has started a mobile outreach effort to bring state services to people who may not be able to come to his Brookline office.
"Every day that we›re open, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., two of my staffers will be around the district to try to answer your state-related questions and help solve state-related problems, especially helping people to get the photo ID they will need to vote in the November election. My staff and I have already heard from many people who need help getting the required photo ID, and it›s important to start now since getting the necessary documents can take weeks or months," Rep. Schmotzer said.
"For any state-related issue, if you can›t make it to my Brookline office, just look for our table and sign. We›ll be going to senior centers, community centers, libraries, shopping centers and other locations throughout the district.
"If you'd like my mobile office to come to your neighborhood, please call us at 412-343-2094. Please call if you are having an event and you would like someone from my office to attend. Many people aren›t aware how many services their state representative can help with."
Rep. Schmotzer›s office, 900 Brookline Blvd., Pittsburgh, 15226, can assist residents with state services such as Property Tax/Rent Rebates for seniors and other eligible applicants, the PACE/PACENET prescription-drug programs for seniors, vehicle registration and the Children›s Health Insurance Program. He also provides information about state services on his website, http://www.pahouse.com/Schmotzer.
The 22nd Legislative District includes part or all of several Pittsburgh neighborhoods including Brookline, Beechview, Sheraden, Esplen, Chateau, Overbrook, Mount Washington, Duquesne Heights and the South Shore, as well as Baldwin Township, Castle Shannon Borough and most of Whitehall Borough.
