Carrick bar robber apprehended

Mooney's Bar in the 2600 Block of Brownsville Road was robbed on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 29.

The suspect was identified as a white man wearing black sweat pants, gray hooded sweatshirt, black sunglasses and black tennis shoes. The suspect entered the bar brandishing a weapon and demanded money from an employee.

When the employee told the suspect she didn't have any money the suspect fled out the front door of the bar empty handed.

After an investigation, Pittsburgh police robbery detectives had probable cause to secure an arrest warrant for Joseph Young, 36, from Carrick.

On December 8, Mr. Young was arrested by The Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force at the Econo Lodge on Route 51 in Jefferson Hills. He was charged with one count of robbery and was transported to the Allegheny County Jail for processing.
