Winterfest a success

South Side Winterfest at Phillips K-5 school was a tremendous success, and I wanted to take the time to acknowledge those who helped make it possible.
Thanks to Cortney Ivanov's amazing leadership; Citiparks unlimited generosity and staff; Lifestone Church and Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community for entertainment and help wherever they were needed; the Phillips parents that volunteered and provided yummy baked goods; Don and Shirley Froehlich's loving hearts and generous spirit; and, Phillips K-5 school and staff for being our gracious host, we had a wonderful evening
With all the negative press and discourse happening in our neighborhood lately, it was refreshing and reassuring to see people come together for a common goal and accomplish it with flying colors.
One more important acknowledgement...the families of Phillips and the South Side. They are the heart and soul of this neighborhood and make me proud to be a South Sider.
