Story Time, Chess coming up at South Side Branch Library

South Side Branch, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, 2205 E. Carson St, will offer Pre School Story Time on Mondays at 3 p.m. through February 28.

Parents and children are welcome to come and enjoy fun and educational programs together. The program is recommended for ages 2-5. No registration is required

Learn the basics of chess or pick up some new strategies in the library's series of weekly lessons. Each lesson includes both instruction and practice time. Any child or adult may participate, but tournament competitors must be in first through seventh grades.

Weekly chess lessons are on Saturdays at 1 p.m. and will take place through March 5. No registration is required.

Saturday March 12 will be the South Side Library's Chess Tournament for students in first through seventh grades. The winners will be eligible to go on to the city tournament.
