Phillips students work accepted to be published in poetry book

Almost two-dozen fourth and fifth grade students from Pittsburgh Phillips K-5 have had their poetry accepted for publication by Creative Communication.

The students' work will appear in the Spring 2009 hard bound anthology titled "A Celebration of Poets." The publication selects several hundred entries from several thousand submitted.

Colleen Pilarski, a Phillips teacher, worked with the children throughout the writing process and submitted the work on their behalf. All the students' poems are now eligible for the final competition, which includes $3,000 in prizes.
