Time running out to get a street tree in Carrick

April 14, 2009

Carrick is blooming this spring.

More than 60 trees have been planted pruned, and will be blooming with at least 10 different types of blossoms. Tree tenders were outside from October to March this winter working to make the spring tree fashion show a success.

There are Elms, Tartarian Maples, Gingkos, Hackberry and Bald Cypress trees competing this year.  The beautiful pink blossoms are Flowering Cherry trees while the white blossoms are Flowering Crab Apple Trees. The trees have all chosen different shades of colors in between so they are not confused with their neighbors.

Brownsville Road property owners can request a tree on their property by calling Alice Vaday at 412-885-3293 or email alice.vaday@
