Northside Urban Pathways Charter School (NUP) and Dilworth Middle School will perform a free concert to celebrate Black History Month on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at Duquesne University beginning at 6 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. NUP's steel band and Dilworth's world drumming teams will perform.

The program, “Shika Tamaa Celebration,” is Kenya term which means live for hope. The concert is free and open to the public.

“This concert collaboration is our present to the community and an opportunity to showcase our schools' musical programs,” said Dr. McBride, Director of Student Services at NUP. “These students have an extraordinary amount of talent. We hope people will come out to enjoy this music.”

”We also want to grow our students' musical knowledge through joint musical selections in the program,” Dr. McBride added. “Plus our students will have an opportunity to become exposed to a college environment.”
