Concord students win energy awards

The Pittsburgh Public Schools 17th annual S.E.C.T.E.M. Awards (Student/Employee/Community/Teamed for Energy Management) were held recently and Concord School faired well.
The school won the Thomas A. Motley Highest Achievement Award for energy conservation. In addition to the plaque, the school received $1,000. Several students from Concord also won in the annual poster contest.
The contest is district wide in which posters drawn by the students promoting energy conservation are submitted.
Hannah Fox earned third place and won $50 in the district wide kindergarten to second grade division. Matti King earned third place in the in the district wide third to fifth grade division and won $50.
