Concord vs. Roosevelt in new basketball series


Concord and Roosevelt students in grades 4 and 5 will play a friendly, competitive basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 17 in the Carrick High School gym.

The girls will compete at 10 a.m. and the boys will play at noon. The event is open to all Carrick community members. Admission for the event is $1 per student, $2 per adult, and $5 per family. Entrance monies will benefit the Pittsburgh Concord and Pittsburgh Roosevelt PTO's. Baked goods will be sold by the PTOs. The Concord 5th Grade cheerleaders will help cheer their team to victory.

Principals, Susan M. Barie of Concord and Vince Lewandowski of Roosevelt, plan to attend the game. District Judge Richard King, will present the boys and girls winning trophies.

This event has been organized by Concord custodian, Steven Boehm. The schools plan to make this an annual event.
