Silver Eye offering photography workshops for teens this summer

Silver Eye Center for Photography on the South Side will hold a series of intensive four-day workshops for teens 13 to 17 years old this summer:
Getting Started with Digital Photography, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., with a choice between: Session 1: Tues. - Fri., July 8 through July 11, or Session 2: Tues. - Fri., July 15 through July 18.
Using their own cameras, students will explore digital photography including exposure, white balance and choosing the best image resolution. Also part of the program will be instruction in lighting and composition as well as image editing techniques using Adobe Photoshop Elements.
Students must bring a digital camera with them to class. Class limited to five participants. Members $150 .; Non-members: $175.
Intermediate Digital Photography, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. with a choice between: Session 1: Tues. - Fri., August 5 through August 8, or Session 2: Tues. - Fri., August 12 through August 15.
Continue on with this workshop to explore more advanced Photoshop Elements and printing techniques. Using their own camera students will have the opportunity to build on what they already know. Printing costs included. Students should bring a digital camera with them to class.
Class limited to five participants. Members $175.00; Non-members: $199.
