Area service providers will speak at GBIN meeting


The Greater Beltzhoover Interagency Network will hold its annual “Meet the Birmingham Foundation” evening on Thursday, March 27, at the Upper McKinley Park Recreation Center, 900 Delmont Street in Beltzhoover.

At the meeting, representatives from several local non-profit organizations that have received funding from the Birmingham Foundation will speak, along with several special guests.

Among those scheduled to speak are: Aaron Thomas, program coordinator for Adagio Health; Keith Kindrich, executive director of Beginning With Books; Jennifer Boughner, director of resource development for the Center for Creative Play; Andrea Williams, executive director of Children's Sickle Cell Foundation; David Tinker, director of development at Achieva; and, Dr. Michael Tobin, executive director of Healthy Home Resources. Special guests include State Sen. Wayne Fontana, District 3 Councilman Bruce A. Kraus, Dr. Edith Flam, principal of Grandview Elementary.

There will also be updates and announcements from other local community organizations in and around the Greater Beltzhoover area.

A light reception begins at 5 p.m. and the meeting will follow promptly at 6 p.m. and conclude at 7:15 p.m. Dinner will be served at the conclusion of the meeting. All are welcome to eat, network and discuss concerns and issues after the meeting.
