South Side church hosting Prayer Vigil for Peace

As part of the national Christian Peace Witness for Iraq March 7-10, the South Side Presbyterian Church welcomes the public to gather in prayers for peace in Iraq.

The first is a Prayer Vigil for Peace for Iraq on Friday, March 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants are welcome to gather in prayer for part or all of that hour, according to Pastor Kathy Hamilton-Vargo. Use the 20th Street entrance of the church.

The Sunday, March 9 weekly service of worship, which begins at 11 a.m., will include prayers for peace as well. The South Side Presbyterian church is at the corner of South 20th and Sarah streets, South Side. It is handicap accessible and provides nursery care on Sundays for young children.
