Pittsburgh City Council proclaimed Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, as Vincent J. Lewandowski Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Lewandowski is the principal at Pittsburgh Roosevelt PreK-5 in Carrick. This special day celebrated his leadership and the efforts and achievements of staff, students, and parents at Pittsburgh Roosevelt PreK-5. This day also celebrated the bond that has been created between the school and the families in the community.

Sharing this special day with Mr. Lewandowski was his mother, Helen Lewandowski, teachers, and students. Four Pittsburgh Roosevelt third grade students were invited to say the Pledge of Allegiance to open the city council meeting that day.
