Sign ups begin for CCAA youth baseball and softball


The Carrick Community Athletic Association will hold its annual sign-ups for Baseball and Softball for the 2008 season. Opening Day will be Saturday April 19.

Registration for all Girls and Boys ages 4 to 18 years of age in 2008 will be held at Phillips Park Recreation Center located on Parkfield Street, across the street from Carrick High School on:

Thursday, Jan. 24, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m .; Saturday, Jan. 26, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m .; and, Thursday, Jan. 31, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Also: Saturday, Feb. 16, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m .; Thursday, Feb. 21, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m .; Saturday, Feb. 23, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m .; and, Thursday, Feb. 28 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Fees for the 2008 season are: $35.00 for all Instructional, Farm and Little League; $40.00 for Fast Pitch Softball, Senior Girls Slow Pitch, Teener, Pony and Colt; and, $100 for American Legion and Super Colt (no calendar sales required, must qualify via tryout.)

If a family has three or more siblings registering, the cost will be the highest two fees plus $10 per child thereafter. Sign ups also require 10 calendar tickets be sold per family, excluding Super Colt and American Legion. Calendar tickets play off the PA 3 digital night lottery number at a cost of $10 per ticket.

Parents may choose to pay $75 as a buyout, in lieu of selling calendars. This money is due at the time of signup.

League age structure will be determined by the total enrollment.
