Workshop will outline opportunities for employment at Majestic Star Casino

A free community workshop on employment opportunities at the Majestic Star Casino will be sponsored by The Brashear Association, in cooperation with Northside Leadership Conference (NLC), on Thursday, Nov. 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Brashear Center, 2005 Sarah Street.

Staff from the Northside Leadership Conference and the Community College of Allegheny County will present important information about employment in the gaming industry.

So You Think You Want To Work In A Casino. . .? will discuss basic casino operations, jobs that will be available, qualifications, application procedures, and resources to help overcome employment barriers.

This is not a job fair and no applications will be accepted at the event. It is an informational session for those people who think they would like to work in a casino.

“With the groundbreaking in the near future, we want to have as many qualified applicants as possible. Addressing employment barriers and collecting the necessary information may be a lengthy process for some and attending the workshop will definitely give them a head start,” Randy Lheureau, workforce development specialist at the NLC, stated.

The workshops are free and open to the public. For more information, call 412-30-551 or e-mail: casinocareers @pittsburghnorthside.com.

The Brashear Association is a United Way agency.
