Sr. Leona Stumpf will retire as Parish Social Service Minister

Sr. Leona Stumpf, R.S.M., will retire from her position as Parish Social Service Minister at Saint Mary of the Mount church at the end of May.

Sr. Leona began her service in March 1975 and spent 32 years serving the parish and community of Mount Washington. She was hired by Monsignor Joseph Knorr and served many pastors in the intervening years, including the most recent, Reverend Michael J. Stumpf (no relation).

“I'm a Religious Sister of Mercy and through the grace of God I pray that I have brought Jesus Christ's love to all the people I have served,” Sr. Leona said. “I have spent 32 happy years on Mount Washington and I thank you all for your kindness.”

There will be a reception for Sister Leona on May 20 from 1-3 p.m. in Sullivan Hall, 115 Bigham Street, Mount Washington.
