Public hearing on amendments before planning commission

 


A public hearing has been scheduled before the City of Pittsburgh Planning Commission on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. in the first floor hearing room of the John P. Robin Civic Building, 200 Ross Street, Downtown, on two new Zoning Code text amendments introduced to City Council and referred to the commission for a report and recommendation.

Council Bill No. 540 of 2006 would make available to applicants in certain cases additional floor area and increased maximum height for development that meets requirements for certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program, subject to the approval of the Zoning Administrator or Planning Commission.

Council Bill No. 672 of 2006 would amend certain definitions in order to prohibit structures that are presently exempt from standard height limitations from being used for contextual height approvals.

Testimony presented by individuals will be limited to three minutes each. Testimony presented by a spokesperson of an organization will be limited to five minutes each and the person shall provide a “Letter of Authorization” from the appropriate officers.


Prepared comments may be submitted in lieu of testimony, and testimony should not be read from a prepared statement but summarized with the prepared statement handed to the Commission for its review.

A copy of the proposed amendments may be viewed at the Zoning Office on the third floor of 200 Ross Street, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
