Stop, drop & roll

Mount Oliver fire captain Andy Marsh provided fire prevention and safety instruction for pre-school children who attend the Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center (COTRAIC) Head Start program, located at 201 Rochelle Street in Knoxville. Captain Marsh showed the children the “stop, drop and roll” drill last week at the Mount Oliver municipal fire hall on Brownsville Road. Captain Marsh provided the instruction as part of National Child Safety and Fire Prevention Week. Captain Marsh also went through these safety drills with about a dozen children at the Mount Oliver Neighborhood Watch meeting May 7 at the fire hall. Allegheny County police officer Mike Spagnoletti also provided useful bike-safety tips to the children who attended the Neighborhood Watch event.
