Team ‘hunt' benefits L&L society

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is seeking sponsors and participants for a “Hunt for Cures” scavenger event on Saturday, June 3. Teams of five (friends, co-workers, or other groups) will be given clue packets to search for answers during a two hour hunt in the South Side.

The clues will lead them to various sites around the community, starting at the SouthSide Works. Prizes will be given to teams that answer the most clues, accrue the most points, finish first, etc.

The event will kick off with a party at 4:30 p.m. with the hunt running from 5-7 p.m. An after party will be at 7 p.m. in the SouthSide Works that includes entertainment, food and drinks.

The cost is a $50 donation (or in pledges) per person for those pre-registering. A team of five may register for $175. The donation on the day of the event is $60. The price includes kick off party, scavenger hunt participation, after party festivities and access to VIP area during party.

This is the first event of its kind in Pittsburgh. Those who participate will help raise funds for the ongoing work of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, to improve the quality of life of patients and their families, and to create public awareness about blood cancers and the devastating effects.

To register for the Hunt for Cures, or sponsor a team, call Katie Berger, campaign coordinator, at 412-395-2886 or email
