Volunteer opportunities abound at South Side
March 7, 2006
Volunteers' warmth, dedication and friendliness make a difference at the hospital and are a strong indication of community support. As part of the Volunteer Services Department, they play an important role in enhancing the service that the UPMC South Side provides
Those who like to make new friends, help other people, and learn new skills, should consider if volunteering at the UPMC South Side is right for them.
During their working hours, they can park their car at no charge and enjoy a free lunch in the cafeteria (if working four or more hours). In addition, they can become a member of the credit union, receive discounts on their prescriptions, and attend educational workshops.
Adults, teens ages 14-18, and college students are eligible to volunteer. Call Melissa Driscoll at the Volunteer Services Department at 412-488-5866 if interested. The coordinator will assist in matching volunteers with an assignment that best suits their talents and interests.
