Pet owners need to be more considerate in Carrick

February 14, 2006

Has anyone other than I noticed the change in appearance in Carrick?

Since when do dog owners feel Brownsville Road is a toilet for their pets? Try walking, especially from Parkfield Street to Nobles Lane, without having to avoid feces in your path, not to mention the mounds of litter.

How difficult is it to carry a plastic bag for “doggie clean-up” then dispose of it in the many trash cans provided along the way?

As a life-long resident of Carrick, I remember store keepers sweeping the front sidewalks of their businesses. Now, all of Brownsville Road resembles some neglected back alley. Where is the pride in our beautiful neighborhood?
