PA Public Television Network looking for ‘real people' planning to attend reunions

August 2, 2005

Pennsylvania Public Television Network (PPTN) Stations across the state are immediately seeking families and couples with diverse backgrounds and lifestyles to star in a new season of Explore PA, a weekly travel series airing statewide. Of particular interest for season two are those interested planning to hold or attend a reunion in Pennsylvania.

The reunion/gathering concept is part of the series' “themed destination” approach for season two. Along with reunion/gathering episodes, explorers will be chosen to visit points of interest in Pennsylvania categorized as follows: The Pennsylvania Art Trail, Festivals and Fairs, and The Civil War and Underground Railroad.

The “stars” of the program will travel from their hometown to the location of their reunion/gathering and reveal their findings as Pennsylvania “tourists,” all on camera.

To be considered, couples of all ages, and families with children five years of age or older should send a photo of themselves along with a description of why they would like to be a part of the production. They should also note their particular themed area of interest when selecting a travel destination. The producers are not seeking actors, rather real people with a love of trying something new, who will be able to spend at least three to four days “on the road.”

E-mails with short personal descriptions/reasons to be selected, travel preferences, photos, name, address and phone contact information are welcomed at: explorepa@witf.org. Non-returnable photos and applicable information may also be mailed to: Explore PA, P.O. Box 2954, Harrisburg, PA 17105
