Rep. Wheatley offering pool tags for residents

A limited number of pool passes for children in the 19th Legislative District whose parents are on public assistance are available at State Rep. Jake Wheatley's office.

I've purchased these pool tags as a response to the community's need,” Wheatley said. “Money should not stand in the way of kids being able to enjoy swimming.”

The pool tags are good until June 1, 2006, and can be used at every pool in the city, including the indoor aquatic facilities. To acquire these pool tags, come to Wheatley's office at 2015-2017 Centre Ave. In order to receive a pool tag, the parent of the child must present photo identification and his or her printout from the Department of Public Welfare, and must be a resident of the 19th Legislative District.

The district includes part or all of the South Pittsburgh neighborhoods of: Allentown, South Side, Beltzhoover, Arlington and Arlington Heights.

People who are handicapped or elderly and cannot come to the office should call 412-471-7760 and accommodations will be made for them.
