Mt. Oliver Community Days this week

Mount Oliver Community Days will return this year, bigger and better with five days of fun and music at Transverse Park.

Beginning on Tuesday, July 19, Community Days will feature the C&L Shows Midway Carnival, live bands on the Transverse Field Main Stage, karaoke, a car cruise and “Controlled Burn Outs,” along with food and game booths. The annual festival will conclude with a fireworks spectacular on Saturday night.

This year, the Community Days Main Stage will be on Transverse Field where returning favorites include “Unattainable,” playing country and oldies on Tuesday and “KPG” with classic and original music on Wednesday. Friday night the Main Stage features oldies band “The Holidays,” with dance and 80s and 90s favorites played by “mr. bigglesworth” on Saturday.

Those looking to “be a star” have their chance on Thursday night with karaoke.

C&L Shows Midway Carnival returns to Community Days from Tuesday through Saturday nights. Festival organizers expect to offer “One Price Nights” every night but Saturday.

The Car Cruise, sponsored by Beckman Motor Company, will take place Friday evening on Transverse Field. Happening along with the Car Cruise on Friday night will be the increasingly popular “Controlled Burn Outs.”

On Transverse Field, non-profit organizations will host games of skill and chance along with information on their organizations. Bingo will also be held nightly on street level above the field.

Mount Oliver Community Days climax with the annual Zambelli Fireworks Extravaganza Saturday night after dark.
