Through the efforts of Principal Cindy Baldrige and the Diosese of Pittsburgh Catholic Schools Office the school received a grant that resulted in Bishop Leonard School receiving 35 new state-of-the-art computers along with server hardware and software. The school will fund the set-up and networking of the computers along with required additional hardware and cabling the wireless access points. Full installation is expected to take several weeks.
The school's new computer lab will contain 31 personal computers along with an additional 10 machines in the adjoining teacher's lounge. There will also be two computers in each classroom.
All computers in the lab and throughout the school will be connected by a wireless network. Controlled Internet access, through a DSL line will be available to these computers.
The school will host a diocesan training program for teachers in early August.
