Zone 3 officers were called to the 100 block of Rochelle Street in Knoxville the night of November 1 for a report that a female had been assaulted.

At the home, the officers found a 52-year old victim lying on the dining room floor with a serious head wound. A spent bullet casing was discovered in the dining room.

Investigators worked the case throughout the night and into the morning, identifying a person of interest. Detectives are now working to locate and interview these persons. At the time, there were no active arrest warrants and no arrests have been made.

The victim was taken to UPMC Mercy in stable condition.
