Firefighter injured fighting fire on Mt. Joseph Street

August 29, 2017

On Saturday afternoon, firefighters were sent to a fire at a home in the 1900 block of Mount Joseph Street in Carrick.

The fire appeared to have originated in the basement of the 2½ story structure and went to a third alarm. There were two people home at the time and they both got out on their own without injury.

One firefighter was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Animal Care and Control was called to the scene for a dog that died inside the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
