Pittsburgh’s Zoning Board of Adjustment has scheduled the following public hearings of interest to South Pittsburgh residents in the first floor hearing room of the John P. Robin Civic Building, 200 Ross Street, Downtown.

Zone case 275/17 on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 9:00 a.m. is the appeal of Gary J. Cirricione, applicant, and School District of Pittsburgh, owner, for 125 Parkfield Street in the 29th Ward (Zoning District R1D-L).

Applicant requests 47 sq. ft. identification pole sign with LED portion for a school.

Variances: 919.03.N.2: Maximum 12 sq. ft. in sign face area permitted and 47 sq. ft. requested; 919.03.O.3: Electronic non-advertising signs are not permitted R1D zoning district.

Zone case 279/17 on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 10:10 a.m. is the appeal of David M. Donis, applicant, and William Slater & Sons Inc., owner, for 301 Virginia Avenue in the 19th Ward (Zoning District LNC).

Applicant requests to add a crematory to existing funeral home.

Special Exception: 911.02: Funeral home use is a Special Exception in LNC zoning district.

Variance: 911.04.A.25(a): There shall be no crematory or receiving vault on the premises; a crematory is proposed.

Zone case 291/17 on Thursday, Aug. 24 at 9:10 a.m. is the appeal of Nathan Hart, applicant, and Swaier Salman, owner, for 2708 Brownsville Road in the 29th Ward (Zoning District LNC).

Applicant requests interior renovations to existing building for a grocery store (general) with surface parking lot.

Special Exception: 911.02: Funeral home use is a Special Exception in LNC zoning district.

Variance: 911.04.A.83: Grocery store (general) is a Special Exception in LNC zoning district.
