The following are the Part I crimes for the week of: July 10 - 16.

Duquesne Heights (1911)

Theft from vehicle – Republic St. & Rutledge St. – between 7/4/17 at 6 PM and 7/5/17 12:30 AM – Victim parked her car to watch fireworks. When she returned her Camelback hiking bag was stolen. The hiking bag contained Ray-Ban sunglasses, state ID, debit/credit card, bikini, raincoat, bike lock, bike headlight & taillight, helmet light, bike pump, battery pack, Lifestraw portable water filter, cell phone case, flashlight, multi-tool, & bike tools. The amount of loss is over $420.

Mt. Washington (1903, 1914, 1915, 1807)

Robbery – 100 blk. Bailey Ave. – 7/11/17 at 11:33 PM – Officers responded to a purse snatching. The suspect approached the victim and pulled the purse off of her shoulder. The suspect is described as a white male, 35-40 years old, 5'6", 170 pounds, stocky build, short brown hair, teal tee shirt, blue jeans, & black sneaker with white laces. The purse was navy blue with brown stripes. The purse contained a gold medallion, 2 black earrings, & medication. Amount of loss is $145.

Theft – 400 blk. Bigham St. – between 6/1/17 at 9 AM and 7/5/17 at Noon – Victim reported a known person stole her jewelry. The jewelry was a wedding ring, class ring, gold chain, gold bracelet, large hoop earrings, & broaches. Amount of loss is over $1,000.

Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Natchez St. – between 7/12/17 at 8 PM and 7/13/17 at 9 AM – Victim reported he had items stolen out of his vehicle. The items were coins, gift cards, rewards cards, remote for lights, 24 batteries for lights. Amount of loss is over $460.

Stolen vehicle – 100 blk. Ruth St. – between 7/12/17 at 9:30 PM and 7/13/17 at 9 AM – Victim had her pink/cream 2015 Honda Metropolitan motor scooter stolen. The victim recovered her scooter in the local area.

South Side Slopes (1706, 1608)

Theft from vehicle – 2300 blk. Salisbury St. – between 7/11/17 at 10:30 PM and 7/12/17 at 11:40 AM – Victim observed her driver's side door was ajar. The contents of the vehicle had been scattered. The victim stated that one of the doors locks is bad and may have not locked.

Theft from vehicle – 3100 blk. Josephine St. – between 7/14/17 at 9 PM and 7/15/17 at 10 AM – Victim reported $5 in change was stolen out of her car. She noticed the vehicle door ajar and items scattered inside. There was no sign of forced entry.

Theft – 2000 blk. Gregory St. – between 6 AM and 4 PM on 7/13/17 – Victim reported someone cut his lock and stole his silver Mongoose 21-speed mountain bike. Loss is $375.

Theft from vehicle – 1900 blk. S. 18th St. – between 7/11/17 at 8 PM and 7/14/17 at 6 PM – Victim reported his firearm (Kel Tec P11 9mm) and debit card were stolen out of his vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry. Amount of loss is unknown.

Theft from vehicle - 100 blk. Pius St. – between 7/14/17 at 1 AM and 7/14/17 at 9:30 AM – Victim observed the passenger side front door was ajar. The contents of his vehicle had been moved. Also, a pocket knife had been taken. There was no damage to the vehicle.

Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Pius St. – between 7/14/17 at 1 AM and 7/14/17 at 9:30 AM – Victim reported someone had rifled through his vehicle but nothing appears to have been taken. There was no damage to the vehicle.

Theft from vehicle – 1500 blk. St. Patrick St. – between 7/13/17 at Noon and 7/14/17 at 7:30 AM – Victim reported several items from her vehicle were stolen. The items stolen were debit cards, credit cards, insurance card, voter registration card, student ID, gift cards, key, & cash. Amount of loss is over $5.

Burglary – 100 blk. Welsh Way – 7/16/17 at 6 AM – Officers responded to a burglary in progress call. Upon arrival, the victim stated a large black male with a gray shirt just ran out of his front door. One victim explained he heard a noise and awoke to a large black male going thru his girlfriend's purse. He yelled at the suspect who then fled. Officers checked the area with negative results. The victims had their purse, credit cards, cash, wallet, state ID, & apron stolen in the burglary. Amount of loss is over $850.

Burglary – 2000 blk. Josephine St. – 7/16/17 at 10:35 PM – Officers responded to a burglar alarm and discovered a shattered window with blood on the frame. A blood sample was collected at the scene.

South Side Flats (1609, 1702)

Theft – Riverfront Park (near S. 18th St.) – between 7/2/17 at 6 PM and 7/10/17 at 3:30 PM – Victim reported his silver 14-speed Trek bicycle was stolen. The bike was recovered at a second hand store on E. Carson Street.

Theft – 2500 blk. Jane St. – 7/10/17 at 1:15 PM – An employee of a local business had items taken from her office. The items were her wallet, credit cards, debit card, state ID, cash, & receipt. The amount of loss is over $88.

Theft from vehicle – 2500 blk. Sidney St. – between 7/13/17 at 8:30 PM and 7/14/17 at 11:50 AM – Victim reported someone attempted to steal items from his employer's vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry.

Theft – Bingham St. & S. 12th St. – between 7/4/17 at 11:30 PM and 7/5/17 at 6 AM – Victim reported her Nishiki mountain bike was stolen along with the lock. The amount of loss is $160.

Burglary – 100 blk. Wharton Ct. – between 7/14/17 at 3:45 AM and 6:45 AM – Victims reported cash was stolen from their purse. Also, numerous items had been picked up and found in different locations. Amount of loss is $70.

Theft from vehicle – S. 17th St & E. Carson St. – between 7/9/17 at 8 AM and 7/10/17 at 7 AM – Victim reported her sunglasses and iPod were stolen from her vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry.

Theft – 100 blk. S. 18th St. – between 7/8/17 at 10 PM and 7/9/17 at 1 AM – Victim reported having her Nikon D5300 camera and Beats Solo 3 headphones stolen. Amount of loss is $965.19.

Robbery – E. Carson St. & S. 13th St. – 7/14/17 at 2:16 AM – Officers working Southside saturation observed an apparent fight. After a brief investigation, the victim explained he was counting his money when the suspect stole the money out of his hand. The victim confronted the suspect. The suspect struck the victim in the face and police showed up shortly after. Officers recovered $24 from the suspect. Jarred Poe was arrested for the robbery.

Stolen vehicle – S. 19th St. & E. Carson St. – 7/14/17 at 4:55 PM – Victim parked a rental van in front of a local business with the keys in the vehicle. When she returned the vehicle had been stolen. A silver Dodge Caravan with PA plate KJF 6148 was stolen.

Theft – 1900 blk. Larkins Way – between 7/15/17 at 7:30 PM and 7/16/17 at 12:30 AM – Victim reported his Centurion 10-speed bicycle had been stolen. Amount of loss is $150.

Stolen vehicle – E. Carson St. & S. 15th St. – between 7/15/17 at 11:30 PM and 7/16/17 at 3:19 AM –Victim reported his black 2005 Acura RSX with PA plate JCE 3648 had been stolen.

Theft from vehicle – E. Carson St. & S. 2nd St. – between 7/8/17 at 10 AM and 7/8/17 at 3 PM – Victim observed her rear passenger side window was broken out and her purse had been stolen. Items in the purse were her wallet, her debit cards, credit cards, health insurance information, dental insurance information, connect card, keys, & state ID were taken with the purse. Loss is over $95.

Theft – 2600 blk. Sidney St. – 7/10/17 at 4:03 PM – An employee reported $10,819.25 cents had been stolen by another employee from the business.

Allentown (1803)

Burglary – 400 blk. Arlington Ave. – between 4 PM and 9:45 on 7/11/17 – Victim reported his PlayStation 4 had been stolen from his home. The amount of loss is $350.

Theft from vehicle – 300 blk. Millbridge St. – between 7/12/17 at 6 PM and 7/13/17 at 6:50 AM – Victim reported someone stole his One PX4 Storm 40 caliber firearm with holster. Amount of loss is unknown.

Stolen vehicle – Beltzhoover Ave & McLain St. – between 7/14/17 at 7 PM and 7/15/17 at 1:30 AM – Victim reported his vehicle was stolen. The vehicle is a gray 2003 Acura TL with PA plate KGX 8645.

Mount Oliver (1607)

Theft – 400 blk. St. Joseph St. – between 5/26/17 at midnight and 6/28/17 at 11:59 PM – Victim reported a relative stole her credit cards and used them to make unauthorized purchases. Amount of loss is $6,740.94.

Arlington (1603)

Burglary – 2300 blk. Arlington Ave. – between 7/9/17 at 6 PM and 7/10/17 at 9:19 AM – Victim reported someone entered thru an unlocked door and stole his car keys, wallet, and car (black 2008 Chevrolet Malibu with PA plate DGD 9365). Also, a credit card and state ID were taken too. Amount of loss is unknown.

Stolen vehicle – 2200 blk. Spring St. – between 7/11/17 at 10:30 PM and 7/12/17 at 6 AM – Victim reported her tan 2011 Kia Sorento was stolen. The vehicle was recovered by Pittsburgh Police officers.

Theft – 2000 blk. Spring St. – 7/10/17 at 8 PM – Victim gave his access card to a known person and they refused to return it.

Arlington Heights (1604)

Theft – 3000 blk. Arlington Ave. – 7/14/17 at 11 PM – Victim reported his Nike backpack which contained his wallet, cash, passport, debit card, connect card, & skull candy headphones had been stolen. A known person is suspected in taking these items.

Theft – 3100 blk. Cordell Pl. – between Noon and 4:20 PM on 7/16/17 – Victim reported someone stole a shoe rack with 5 pairs of shoes on it. Amount of loss is over $40.

Beltzhoover (1809)

Aggravated assault – Taft Ave. & Industry St. – 7/15/17 at 10:22 AM – Officers responded to a shots fired call. Upon arrival, a black Honda motorcycle was in the middle of the street along with 14 spent shell casings. It appears the motorcycle had been struck by bullets as well. Officers were then notified a male with a gunshot wounds was at a local hospital. Upon further investigation, the male had been shot at the above location.

Aggravated assault – 300 blk. Loyal Way – 7/16/17 at 1:35 PM – Officers responded to shots fired. They were notified that a local hospital had a male with a gunshot would. Officers located 7 spent shell casings on Loyal Way. The victim was not available due to surgery.

Carrick (2901, 2902, 2904)

Theft – 2100 blk. Brownsville Rd. – 7/11/17 at 2:15 AM – Victim was informed by a witness that he saw 2 black males pull up in a white vehicle. The suspects then stole his tire and rim off of his car and replaced it with a damaged tire and rim. The amount of loss is unknown.

Theft by deception – 1200 blk. Brownsville Rd. – 7/12/17 at 12:12 PM – Officers responded to a male attempting to get a prescription filled on a forged document. The suspect was identified and officers will apply for a warrant.

Criminal trespass – 100 blk. Newett St. – 7/13/17 at 5:13 PM – Officers responded to an intoxicated male passed out in a garage. Upon arrival, the suspect was still there. The victim called to report they had asked the suspect to leave earlier but he came back. Paul Tomanio was arrested for the criminal trespass.

Theft – 2000 blk. Brownsville Rd. – between 7/14/17 at 7 AM and 7/16/17 at 9:30 AM – Victim reported a roommate took his belongings. The items stolen are Wahl hair clippers, Curve cologne, & a pack of Degree sport deodorant. Amount of loss is $190.

Burglary – 1900 blk. Walton Ave. – between 10:30 AM and Noon on 7/16/17 – Victim arrived home and found her basement window open an items on the shelves scatter on the floor. Nothing appears to have been taken.

Theft – 200 blk. Alries St. – between 7/14/17 at 10 PM and 7/15/17 at 8 AM – Victim reported her lawn mower was stolen from her front porch. Amount of loss is $150.

Theft – 200 blk. Alries – 7/15/17 at 1 AM – Victim reported his Troy Built jet blower and electric Remington pole saw had been stolen. Amount of loss is $248.

Theft – 1600 blk. Leolyn St. – between 2 PM and 9:30 PM on 7/16/17 – Victim reported his red Schwinn 2013 mountain bike was stolen off of his back porch. The amount of loss is $200.

Theft – 100 blk. Meritt Ave – 7/13/17 at 10:45 PM – Victim reported his license plate JZG 5402 off of his Mercury Mountaineer was stolen.

Criminal trespass – 100 blk. Stewart Ave. – 7/11/17 at 5:30 PM – Victim reported someone pried open the front door but nothing appears to have been taken.

Overbrook (3204, 3207)

Theft – 400 blk. Antenor Ave – between 7/3/17 at Noon and 7/13/17 at 12:30 PM – Victim reported a known suspect took his blue binder with collectible stamps. The amount of loss is unknown.

St. Clair (1606)

Knoxville (3001)

Stolen vehicle – 200 blk. Marland St. – 7/11/17 at 9:45 AM – Victim reported a black male, medium build, and wearing a black hoodie had stolen her vehicle (white 2007 Chevrolet Impala). Officers found the vehicle a short distance from the location it was stolen.

Theft – 200 blk. Orchard Pl. – 7/13/17 at 5 PM – Officers responded to a theft in progress. When officers pulled up a van driven by Vincent Fanase was attempting to back out. The victim saw Vincent Fanase take 12 ladder jacks worth about $600 from his property. Vincent Fanase was taken to the county jail.

Robbery – Rochelle St. & Ibis Way – 7/14/17 at 4:45 PM – Victim reported a known male called and arrange for her to pick up cell phone screens. When she arrived at the address its was abandoned. She called the known person who stated he could not come out. The male stated he was sending his relative down to exchange the screens for the money. The victim was then approached by a juvenile who pulled a silver handgun on the victim and demanded her money and phone. The victim resisted until the juvenile put the gun at her throat. The victim was forced to give her $200 and iPhone 7. Amount of loss is $950.

Theft – 200 blk. Orchard Pl. – 7/15/17 at 7:09 PM – An employee called to report a local business was missing 3,000 to 5,000 dollars and an another employee is suspected in the theft.

Criminal trespass – 100 blk. Redlyn St. – between 7/15/17 at 11 PM and 7/16/17 at 7 AM – Victim reported someone removed the rear window screen and tried to gain entry.

Aggravated assault – 100 blk. Bausman St. – 7/16/17 at 4:46 PM – Officers responded to a call of 2 people shot. However, only one victim was on scene but had two wounds to his leg. A black Hyundai was scene passing by the location and the passenger opened "fire" on the victim. The victim was taken by medics to a local hospital for treatment and listed in stable condition.

Theft – 100 blk. Michigan Way – between 7/12/17 at midnight and 7/16/17 at 10 PM – Victim reported her son had friends over on 7/12/17 and she discovered her silver Walther PK380 .380 caliber handgun had been stolen. Amount of loss is unknown.
