Zone 3 Community Crime Alerts June 19-25

 


The following are the Part I crimes for the week of: June 19-25.

Duquesne Heights (1911)

Theft – 300 blk. Fingal St. – 6/26/17 at 6:30 PM – Victim reported his Flat Iron Mandolin (with case) was stolen from his front porch. Loss is $2,220.

Mt. Washington (1903, 1914, 1915, 1807)

Theft – 400 blk. Ruxton St. – 6/22/17 at 5:22 PM – Victim observed his relative steal his Kobalt tool bag containing a wrench and socket set, red/black/yellow hedge trimmers, and Apple HDMI adapter. Amount of loss is $300.

Robbery – Bailey Ave & Wyoming St. – 6/19/17 at 7:45 AM – Victim reported he was approached by 3 black males who demanded the victim's money. Suspect #1 flashed a silver gun with black handle. Victim pulled his money out of his wallet and was hit by suspect #1 with something hard. Suspect #2 then kicked the victim after he fell to the ground. The suspects then fled. Amount of loss is $7.

Burglary – 100 blk. Amabell St. – between 4:20 PM and 11:30 on 6/24/17 – Victims reported several items stolen from their home. There was no signs of forced entry. Items taken were: Xbox One gaming system with controller, 2 HDMI cables, PlayStation 3 gaming system with controller, 3 PlayStation 4 gaming systems with 4 controllers (1 black & 1 red), 50' Ethernet cable, Final Fantasy 15 Xbox One game, Nintendo DS gaming system, Pokémon Sun Nintendo DS game, cash, and gaming headset. Loss is $2,420.

Burglary – 400 blk. Norton St. – between 6/22/17 at 10 PM and 6/23/17 at 7:30 – Victim stated someone cut the string he used to secure his door and stole his medication. The amount of loss is unknown.

South Shore (1921)

Theft – 200 blk. Station Sq. Dr. W. – 6/22/17 at 10:30 PM – Victim reported his dark blue Schwinn City Hybrid bike was stolen. Amount of loss is $250.

Bon Air (1806)

South Side Slopes (1706, 1608)

Theft from vehicle – 2900 blk. Josephine St. – between 6/18/17 at 10 PM and 6/19/17 at 8 AM – Victim reported her briefcases with her company's paperwork was stolen out of her vehicle. The amount of loss is unknown. There was no sign of forced entry.

Theft from vehicle – 2300 blk. Mission St. – between 6/18/17 at 2 PM and 6/19/17 at 9:30 AM – Victim reported cash was stolen from her vehicle. Approximate loss is $30. There was no sign of forced entry.

Theft of property lost or mislaid – 900 blk. Eleanor St. – between 6/20/17 at 1:27 PM and 6/21/17 at 9 AM – Victim reported she had found some papers that were in her wallet, but her passport wallet, state ID, and debit card are missing. Amount of loss is unknown.

Theft from vehicle – 2300 blk. Cobden St. – between 6/22/17 at 8 PM and 6/23/17 at 11:15 AM – Victim found the driver's door of his vehicle ajar and discovered his firearm (Glock model 23 .40 cal) with 2 fully loaded magazines had been stolen. Amount of loss is over $375.

Theft – 2300 blk. Salisbury St. – between 8 AM and 4 PM on 6/23/17 – Victim reported a pearl bracelet and earring set along with cash were stolen from home by a known person. The loss is $280.

South Side Flats (1609 & 1702)

Theft – 2700 blk. E. Carson St. – 6/24/17 after midnight – employee reported two white males stole items out of a donation bin. Amount of loss is unknown.

Criminal trespass – 3000 blk. S. Water St. – between 9 PM and 11 PM on 6/24/17 – Victim's uncle checked his apartment and found it ransacked. There was no signs of forced entry. See below incident.

Robbery – 3000 blk. S. Water St. – 6/24/17 at 11 PM – Victim reported he was checking his nephew's apartment. As the victim pulled up to the apartment he was approached by two black males (1st suspect- 5'9" 20-30 years old, & black dread locks; 2nd suspect- 6' & 195 pounds), one male brandished a firearm and pointed it in the victim's face. The suspect then demanded the victim's wallet and cell phone. Meanwhile, the other suspect entered the victim's car and punched the victim in his face. The victim complied giving suspects his phone and wallet. The suspects fled on foot. Amount of loss is unknown.

Theft from vehicle – 2600 blk. S. Water St. – between 6/23/17 at 7:30 PM and 6/25/17 at 11:25 AM – Victim reported she believes she left her vehicle unlocked because her purse, black bag with ID plus hair dryer, and heart rate monitors were stolen from her vehicle. While the officer was taking the report, a male was located passed out in a wooded area nearby with the victim's belongings. Adam Maxwell was arrested. The items were returned to the victim. The loss would have been $1,920.

Theft of property lost or mislaid – 1100 blk. E. Carson St. – 6/17/17 at 10:50 AM – Victim reported he left his items in a business restroom and when he went back to retrieve them they were gone. The items were a wallet, debit cards, state ID, & cash. Loss is over $310.

Burglary – 2000 blk. Jane St. – 6/24/17 at 5:10 AM – Victims stated they were alerted to their dog growling and barking. They heard other noises coming from downstairs. They went downstairs and found their Xbox One, Michael Kors purse, Michael Kors ring, and Xbox controllers had been stolen from the home. Amount of loss over $950. Entry was made through a window.

Burglary – 1500 blk. Sarah St. – between 6/23/17 at 11 AM and 6/23/17 at 6:30 AM – Victim arrived home and found his door frame damaged. He also discovered cash stolen. Amount of loss is about $200.

Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. S. 19th St. – 6/25/17 at 1:10 AM – Victim returned home after a few minutes and found her passenger side window had been shattered. A new car horn was stolen from the backseat of the vehicle. Amount of loss is $112.

Allentown (1803)

Theft – 800 blk. E. Warrington Ave – 6/10/17 at 6 PM – Victim reported her relative stole her Cricket phone. Amount of loss is unknown.

Theft – 900 blk. Climax St. – between 6/19/17 at 6 PM and 6/20/17 at 6 PM – Victim reported his old wooden cast iron outdoor bench had been stolen. Loss is $40.

Mount Oliver (1607)

Arlington (1603)

Burglary – 2000 blk. Spring St. – between 6:30 PM and 11:41 PM on 6/25/17 – Victim reported returning to the home he was staying. He discovered his PlayStation 4 and 35" flat screen TV had been stolen. There was no sign of forced entry and one of the doors was left unlocked for a period of time. Amount of loss is $385.

Theft – 300 blk. Devlin St. – between 6/24/17 at 3 AM and 6/25/17 at noon – Victim reported a known person stole his belongings. The items were a bank card, state ID, bus pass, black Trac phone, cash, & silver/turquoise ring. Amount of loss is over $85.

Burglary – 100 blk. Cedricton St. – between 8:30 AM and 4 PM on 6/21/17 – Victim discovered her rear door forced open and her air conditioning unit had been stolen from her home. Amount of loss is unknown.

Theft – 2300 blk. Brownsville Rd. – between 6/18/17 at 2 AM and 6/19/17 at 5:20 PM – Victim reported a known person stole her EBT and Direct Express cards. Amount of loss is unknown.

Theft from vehicle – 200 blk. Spencer Ave. – between 3/1/16 at midnight and 3/31/16 – Victim called to report his motorcycle plate (9631M) was stolen.

Theft – 200 blk. Parkfield St. – 6/24/17 at 10:30 AM – Victim reported his Oakley sunglasses were stolen. Loss is $450.

Overbrook (3204, 3207)

Theft – 200 blk. Queenston St. – between 4/26/17 at midnight and 4/29/17 at midnight – Victim reported a delivery company had delivered her package at her home. Someone then stole her Dyson compact sweeper. Loss is $249.

St. Clair (1606)

Knoxville (3001)

Theft – 100 blk. Charles St. – between 6/1/17 at 9 AM and 6/19/17 at 11 AM – Landlord called to report his Kenmore electric washing machine and electric dryer were stolen from his property. Amount of loss is unknown.

Criminal Trespass – 300 blk. McKinley St. – 6/20/17 at 12:15 AM – A witness heard a neighbor's door being "kicked-in" and called 911. Officers found the door open but no one was inside.

Burglary – 100 blk. Knox Ave. – between 6/10/17 at noon and 6/21/17 at noon – Property owner arrived on scene and found the hot water tank had been put on a dolly and left in the middle of basement. The front two windows were broken out too. Amount of damage is over $1,000.

Burglary – 200 blk. Reifert St. – between 6/6/17 at noon and 6/16/17 at noon – Property owner called to report the copper piping in the home had been removed. Amount of damage and loss is unknown.

Robbery – Marland St. & Knox Ave. – 6/23/17 at 7:52 PM – Victim reported she left a convenience store and was grabbed by four black males who held her down and stole $240 from her person. The males then fled. Officers located a known actor. The victim identified the actor (juvenile) who had robbed her. The juvenile was transported to Schuman Center.

Theft by deception – 200 blk. Suncrest St. – between 2/8/17 at noon and 6/23/17 at 1:35 PM – Reporting person explained a known person who she represents has had unauthorized transactions from his banking account. Amount of loss is approximately $2,862.20.

Stolen vehicle – 200 blk. Rochelle St. – 6/23/17 at 5:25 PM – A utility worker called 911 to report his truck (2008 Dodge Dakota) was stolen while on a service call. The vehicle was recovered not far from where it was stolen. A witness described the suspect as a black male, dark complexion, 16-17 years old, thin build, short black hair, wearing white tee shirt and black jeans. The workers Galaxy tablet was stolen from the vehicle. Amount of loss is $200.
