Prince of Peace Holy Week schedule includes St. Adalbert, St. Peter services

 


Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish in South Side will host Holy Week worship services the week of April 9.

Holy Week liturgies will begin with Palm Sunday, the commemoration of the Lord’s entrance into Jerusalem. Mass times will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 8 at St. Adalbert Church and on Sunday, April 9 at 9 a.m. Mass at St. Adalbert Church and 11 a.m. at St. Peter Church.

On Wednesday, April 12 they will have a Tenebrae Service at 6:30 p.m. at St. Peter Church. Tenebrae is a spiritual journey through the final hours of the life and death of Christ, told in word and song.

Holy Thursday, April 13, Mass at 6 p.m. at St. Adalbert Church: The commemoration of the Last Supper and institution of the Holy Eucharist. The church will remain open until 10 p.m. for private visitation.

Good Friday, April 14, Stations of the cross at noon at St. Adalbert Church, followed at 1 p.m. by the Chanting of the Passion, Adoration of the Holy Cross and Communion.

The traditional blessing of the East Foods (baskets) will be held on Holy Saturday, April 15, noon, at St. Adalbert Church.

On Holy Saturday, the Easter Vigil Mass will be begin at 7 p.m. at St. Adalbert Church. Easter Sunday Masses will be at 9 a.m. at St. Adalbert Church and 11 a.m. at St. Peter Church.

St. Adalbert Church is at 160 S. 15th Street. Parking is available in the lot on S. 14th Street. St. Peter Church is at 28th and Sarah streets.
