Zone 3 community crime alerts for March 6-12

 


The following are the Part I crimes for the week of: March 6-12.

Duquesne Heights (1911)

Stolen vehicle- 200 blk. Seward St. - between 3/8/17 at 7 PM and 3/9/17 at 8:30 AM – victim reported her car was stolen. The vehicle is a green 2010 Chevrolet Cobolt with PA plate HHW1272. The rear window has a Westminster College sticker.

Mt. Washington (1903, 1914, 1915, 1807)

Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Cushman St. - 3/10/17 at 11:50 AM – victim stated a known male took her prescription medication from off of her lap in the car.

Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Laclede St. - between 3/10/17 at 1:30 AM and 3/10/17 at 4 AM – victim reported her vehicle was rifled through and items were stolen. The items are an iPhone 4S, a raccoon change purse, and cash. Amount of loss is unknown. There was no obvious signs of forced entry into the vehicle.

Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Greenbush St. - between 3/9/17 at midnight and 3/9/17 at 11:30 AM – a relative reported someone had stolen the license plate off of the vehicle. The plate is PA PD5972M.

Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Greenbush St. - between 3/9/17 at midnight and 3/9/17 at 11:30 AM – victim reported someone had stolen the license plate off of the vehicle. It is PA plate 47641PD.

South Shore (1921)

South Side Slopes (1706, 1608)

Burglary – 2700 blk. Stromberg St. - between 3/7/17 at 7 AM and 3/10/17 at 7 AM – the victim reported his bike was stolen out of his basement. The bicycle is a silver Cannondale Mountain bike model F7. Loss is $540. The basement door was left open.

Stolen vehicle – 2400 blk. Patterson St. - between 3/11/17 at 11:30 PM and 3/12/17 at 11:30 AM – victim reported her burgundy 2010 Kia Forte with PA plate HKP6028 was stolen. The victim believes the doors were locked.

South Side Flats (1609,1702)

Theft from person – 100 blk. Uxor Way. - between 2/25/17 at midnight and 2/28/17 at midnight – victim had a confrontation with a neighbor. The victim had a light bulb stolen, power cord to air conditioning unit was cut, and someone tampered with the mail. Amount of damage and loss is unknown.

Robbery – 100 blk. S. 26th St. - 3/11/17 at 10:52 PM – victim reported he was robbed. The victim explained he had just bought food and was walking down the street when a black Nissan SUV pulled up next to him. The driver (a black male, 5'10", & 130 pounds) got out of the vehicle and pointed a pistol at him. The driver demanded anything he had on him. When the victim recognized the pistol was fake he refused. The driver then stole the victim's food from him and fled in the vehicle. Amount of loss is unknown.

Theft from person – 1100 blk. E. Carson St. - 3/10/17 at 2:27 AM – victim was carrying his friend who was intoxicated. The friend knocked his phone and gun off his person. He stated there was people around but does not know who took the gun. The firearm is a Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 9mm. Loss is about $230.

Theft from person – 100 blk. S. 17th St. - between 3/9/17 at 10 PM and 3/10/17 at 8 AM – victim reported finding her mail scattered on the sidewalk and her locked mailbox was pried open.

Robbery – 1500 blk. Sarah St. - 3/11/17 at 3:42 PM – an officer observed a suspect snatch orange sunglasses from another male's head waiting in line at a bar. The victim and the suspect then started fighting. While officers separated the parties and tried to restore order, the suspect fled the scene only to be located a short time later. Kevin Stalker was arrested for the robbery.

Aggravated Assault – 1700 blk. E. Carson St. - 3/10/17 at 2 AM – officers were breaking up a fight at a local bar when an individual was interfering with the officer's ability to quell the fight by trying to push through the crowd and officers. He instead struck an officer under the chin who was trying to stop him from interfering. Casey Cordell was arrested.

Aggravated Assault – 1700 blk. E. Carson St. - 3/10/17 at 2 AM – officers were breaking up a fight at a local bar. Officers ordered the disorderly people to disperse. A male refused trying to disperse and pushed his way through officers. While officers were trying to effect and arrest, the male tried to elbow an officer. Justin Scott was arrested.

Aggravated Assault – 1500 blk. E. Carson St. - 3/11/17 at 9:33 PM – officers and security at a local bar had escorted a male out for fighting in the bar and told not to return. About an hour later, the male came back and yelled at the officer defying his order not to return. The male then had to be forcibly taken into custody. Regis Sauer was arrested.

Aggravated Assault – 1700 blk. E. Carson St. - 3/11/17 at 4 PM – a male was escorted out of a local business and told to leave. The male kept blocking access to the business and yelling racial slurs and cursing at the employees inside. When the officer tried to take him into custody he swung at the officer. Cody Salisbury was arrested.

Allentown (1803)

Theft of lost or mislaid property – 100 blk. Beltzhoover Ave. - between 3/6/17 at 9 AM and 3/6/17 at 3 PM – victim reported they lost a bag that contained her son's cancer medication. The victim cannot remember where she last had the bag. The amount of loss is unknown.

Mount Oliver (1607)

Arlington (1603)

Theft by deception – Clover St. & Spring St. - between 2/24/17 at midnight and 3/7/17 at 6 PM – victim met a person online and came to Pittsburgh to meet. He assisted this person with a transfer on an App called "Circle". Money was then routed to the suspect's account. The suspect also took cash out of the victim's book bag. Loss is $140.

Theft from vehicle – 2100 blk. Arlington Ave. - between 3/7/17 at 2:30 AM and 3/7/17 at 5 PM – victim reported someone stole her headlights and grill from her 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. The amount to replace the items is unknown.

Burglary – 2100 blk. Arlington Ave. - between 3/7/17 at 5 PM and 3/8/17 at 6:30 AM – a witness notified the home owner of the home being entered and damaged. The home owner believes a previous tenant is responsible for the damage. The amount of damage is unknown. There was nothing taken from the victim. However, items on the porch were taken which belonged to the previous tenant.

Arlington Heights (1604)

Stolen vehicle – 3100 blk. Cordell Pl. - 3/11/17 at 3 PM – a pizza delivery driver left his car running while delivering a pizza. When the driver came back to where he parked the car had been stolen. The car was a red Ford Focus. The Focus has been recovered by officers.

Beltzhoover (1809)

Carrick (2901, 2902, 2904)

Theft from person – 200 blk. E. Meyers St. - between 3/7/17 at 5 PM and 3/7/17 at 10:10 PM – victim reported an unknown person stole his phone. The phone was stolen from a table top in a home he shares with a few other people. Amount of loss is unknown.

Overbrook (3204, 3207)

Theft from person – 2100 blk. Saw Mill Run Blvd. - between 3/4/17 at 12:32 PM and 3/4/17 at 5:30 PM – victim reported a package was delivered by the Postal Service. When the victim came home the package was gone. The package contained clothing from Amazon. Loss is $29.54.

Theft from vehicle – 1900 blk. Dartmore St. - between 3/5/17 at 10 PM and 3/6/17 at 12:45 PM - victim reported he thinks he left the vehicle door unlocked and items were stolen from the vehicle. The items taken are a Red Lobster gift card, Starbucks card, a Columbia fleece jacket (gray), an iPod (gray), and cash. Loss is over $200.

Theft by deception – 2000 blk. Saw Mill Run Blvd. - between 1/11/17 at Noon and 3/9/17 at 1:46 PM – business owner sold a vehicle and had other transactions associated with the sale of the vehicle which were charged back to him by the credit card company. The amount of loss is $4,545.

St. Clair (1606)

Knoxville (3001)

Theft from person – 100 blk. Knox Ave. - 3/6/17 at 11:42 AM – victim's relative told her there was a suspicious male on her porch. The victim's relative found a torn package with her name on it. The item was a gold plated necklace. Loss is $30.

Burglary – 500 blk. Brownsville Rd. - between 3/7/17 at 7:45 AM and 3/7/17 at 10:45 AM – victim reported his front door was forced open. The amount of damage is unknown and nothing appears to have been taken.

Burglary – 200 blk. Mathews Ave. - between 2/1/17 at Noon and 3/9/17 at 2:30 PM – victim reported returning to his home and finding a broken window and items stolen from the home. The items are a washer, dryer, 60" Vizio TV, 50" Vizio TV, XBox 1, PS4, Sony sound bar, and an unknown amount of copper piping. The loss is over $3,300.

Homicide – 400 blk. Bausman St. - 3/11/17 at 8 PM – officers responded to a shots fired with a possible female victim. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who reported she was shot, her son was still in the home along with two other males. Officers working patrol and the St. Patrick's Day celebration responded and assisted in locating the child and clearing the home. Officers located 2 deceased males in the home. The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
