Carrick Community Council meeting slated for March 13

The Carrick Community Council will hold a public meeting on March 13 at Pittsburgh Concord K-5, 2350 Brownsville Road, from 6:30-7:45 p.m.

Speakers include: Sarah Quinn from Pittsburgh’s City Planning Department; David Weber of Housing Authority Operations; Emily Krull of Leadership Development Institute, in regard to the Carrick Pop up Project; also, Steven Affeltranger of Verizon with a project proposal for 2256 Brownsville Road with a community feedback request.

In addition, the PopUp Carrick Project Team will be looking for residents to have their pictures taken for the project. This will be done after the meeting.

The PopUp! event will include a public art installation that reflects the faces of those who call Carrick home. The art installation will symbolize the past, present and future of the Carrick community and celebrate its residents.

This art installation will be part of global art participatory project, the Inside Out Project, which was started by the French artist JR and inspired by his large-format street pastings, to place emphasis on the people and their stories behind each action. To date, more than 260,000 people in 129 countries have participated in the Inside Out Project.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
