Zone 2 Detectives were assisting Zone 3 police with an investigation in the Allentown area when they observed two known individuals get into a car on the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 21.

When the driver of the vehicle failed to stop for the detectives Zone 3 Officers took over the pursuit. The chase only traveled for a couple of blocks and lasted for approximately one minute before the suspects – later identified as Dionte Griffin, 20, of the Hill District, and Sharon Rue, 23, of the Hill District – drove down a dead end street, bailed out of the car, and fled on foot.

Officers saw Griffin throw a gun during the foot pursuit. Both suspects ran in the direction of Carson Street, then inbound on Sarah Street.
