Zone 3 community crime alerts for February 13-19
The following are the Part I crimes for the week of: February 13-19.
Duquesne Heights (1911)
Burglary – 1400 blk. Woodruff St. - between 2/17/17 at 9:30 AM and 2/17/17 at 2:55 PM – victim reported a burglary. Victim stated he returned home and found his front door and back door open. The victim stated his doors were locked. Items were taken from the home. The items are coins, a cross (crucifix), gray sweatpants, and a 2 liter bottle of Pepsi. Amount of loss is over $21.
Burglary – 500 blk. Lime St. - between 2/17/17 at 7 AM and 2/17/17 at 3 PM – victim reported a home burglary. Victim came home and found side door was open. Items from the home were also stolen. Items were a Xbox gaming system, Wii U, Wii gaming system, Jewelry box with jewelry inside, a flute with black case, laptop computer, 2 external hard drives, 2 Xbox controllers, and 3 Wii controllers. Loss is $1,900.
Mt. Washington (1903, 1914, 1915, 1807)
Theft from person – 200 blk. Ulysses St - 2/13/17 at 4:11 AM – victim reported a known female took his house key. The female returned the key and the victim did not want to press charges.
Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Meridan St. - between 2/11/17 at 8 PM and 2/12/17 at 5 AM – victim reported the company vehicle was ransacked. The company credit cards and phone were stolen. The phone was an Iphone. Amount of loss is unknown.
Aggravated Assault – 500 blk. Southern Ave - 2/14/17 at 10:47 PM – officers responded to a fight call. Upon arrival, witnesses and the victim explained to officers someone had opened a car door and it struck their vehicle. According to a witness, the argument was over a drug deal in which the dealer was mad he was $10 short and rammed the other vehicle using the vehicle to try and assault the other person. Some of the suspects names involved in this incident have been developed throughout the course of the investigation.

Theft from person/business - 2700 blk. E. Carson St. - 2/13/17 at 12:05 PM – owner reported an employee stole $355 from the business. The suspect is known. There is video of the theft.
Burglary – 2700 blk. E. Carson St. - between 2/14/17 at 11:23 PM and 2/15/17 at 10:30 AM – employee reported a burglary of the business. The suspects were on video surveillance stealing items from the store. The employee explained the alarm was turned off upon entry and noticed items were stolen. Suspects names have been developed in the investigation. Amount of loss is $448.64. Items stolen were oils and vaping equipment. Plus, a cash box was taken and the amount to replace it is unknown.
Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. S. 16th St. - between 2/13/17 at 12:10 AM and 2/13/17 at 7 AM – victim reported an unknown person tried to remove the inspection & emission stickers off the vehicle. Amount of loss is unknown.
Theft from vehicle – Pretense Way & S. 10th St. - between 2/11/17 at 7 PM and 2/12/17 at 10 AM – victim reported his gray and black Iphone 6S was stolen his vehicle.
Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. S. 18th St. - between 2/14/17 at 4:45 PM – a witness saw a light skinned black male (about 18 to 20 years old) break the driver's side window and get into a tan Toyota. The witness stated there was two light skinned black males in the vehicle earlier. Items stolen were a coach wallet (black), credit cards, PA driver's license, health insurance card, and a rewards card. Amount of loss is over $60.
Theft from person – E. Carson St. & S. 17th St. - 2/11/17 at 3:30 PM – victim reported his wallet was stolen. Items stolen were a brown wallet, driver's license, debit card, student ID, library card, and cash. Amount of loss is over $205.
Theft from person – 1400 blk. E. Carson St. - 2/18/17 at 2:50 AM – victim reported a Technics turntable in a black case was stolen. The victim is a DJ and left the item behind the business to get his car. When he pulled up behind the business the turntable was gone. Loss is $1,000.
Theft from vehicle – S.4th & Bingham St. - between 2/17/17 at 9:15 AM and 2/17 /17 at 6:10 PM – victim returned to find his passenger side window was broken and cash was stolen from his center console. Loss is $20.
Stolen vehicle – 1200 blk. Breed St. - between 2/17/17 at 6:46 PM and 2/18/17 at 12:33 AM – victim reported his vehicle was stolen. The victim checked the area and could not find his vehicle. Victim reported he locked his vehicle. The stolen vehicle is a brown 2015 Chevrolet Sonic 4 door with NY plate HFN4630.
Theft from person – 100 Blk. S. 10th St. - 2/18/17 at 10:30 PM – victim was in a local business and left her keys on the counter. An unknown black male picked up the keys and placed them in his pocket. There is video surveillance of the incident. The amount of loss is unknown.
Burglary – 100 blk. Millbridge St. - between 2/12/17 at 7 AM and 2/13/17 at 4:41 PM – victim reported a burglary. The victim came home and found the kitchen window was broken. Items were stolen from the home. The items were a Xbox 360 (black), cash, and a black Ruger rifle model 10-22. Loss is over $1,100.
Theft from person – 400 blk. Knox Ave. - between 12/7/16 at Noon and 2/16/17 at Noon – victim reported he ordered a Master Craft 21" high wheel gas mower. The victim contacted the company on 2/16/17 to check on the status. The company told him the mower was delivered on 12/7/16. The loss is $300.
Mount Oliver (1607)
Theft from vehicle – 500 blk. Otillia St - 2/14/17 at 4:41 PM – victim reported hearing a disturbance and seeing the car door open. As the victim approached, children ran from the area next to the car. The victim yelled at the children to help him find his checkbook. Some of the children helped him find the checkbook, but the $120 in cash inside was stolen. The children gave the victim the name of a young female who stole the money. Loss is $120.

Theft from vehicle – 1400 blk. Nobles Ln – between 2/12/17 at 11 PM and 2/13/17 at Noon – victim reported items stolen from his vehicle. Items taken were a wallet, credit cards, social security card, birth certificate, union card, driver's license, health insurance card, AAA card, and a charging cord. Loss is over $470.
Theft from person – 100 blk. Parkfield St. - 2/17/17 at 4:54 AM – victim reported a known person stole her pink Nextbook Ares 8. Loss is $80.
Burglary – 2500 blk. Brownsville Rd. - between 2/14/17 at 8 AM and 2/14/17 at 11:30 PM – victim reported a burglary. It appears entry was through a kitchen window and items were stolen. The victim stated the home was ransacked but the officers did not observe the mess, This was due to the victim cleaning up the home. Items stolen were a Gateway laptop, Samsung laptop, Samsung Galaxy tablet, PS4 game, a Batman Xbox One, OBX fishbowl, and cash. Amount of loss is unknown.
Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Kirk Ave. - between 2/19/17 at 2 AM and 2/19/17 at 8 AM – victim reported someone had stolen all 4 tires off of her black 2011 Chevrolet Impala. The tires were P235 50 R18 tires. Manufacturer is unknown. Loss is $600.

St. Clair (1606)
Theft from person – 300 blk. Rochelle St. - between 11/1/15 at Midnight and 11/30/15 at Midnight – victim reported he was contacted by another police department to ascertain were his gun was located. Victim came into Zone 3 station an explained the firearm was stolen some time in November when he was getting high on heroin. The firearm stolen is a Desert Eagle 9mm (black). Value is unknown.
Theft from person – 400 blk. Brownsville Rd. - 2/15/17 at 8 PM – victim gave her cell phone to another juvenile friend who took the cell phone. Loss is $600.
Burglary – 200 blk. Reifert St. - between 2/16/17 at 9 AM and 2/17/17 at 4:20 PM – victim reported a burglary. The victim arrived home to find someone had gone thru her home and damaged the interior. Amount of damage is unknown. A suspect has been named in the investigation.
Stolen vehicle – 200 blk. Rochelle St. - between 2/16/17 at 6 PM and 2/18/17 at 3:15 PM – the victim's friend called to report his tan 2005 Nissan Maxima with PA plate JTH0279 was stolen. The owner was notified a stolen vehicle report was being taken.
