Columbia Gas replacing gas lines in S.S. Slopes, Arlington

 


Natural gas customers in the Arlington and South Side Slopes will soon be part of a Columbia Gas infrastructure replacem ent project.

Affected streets include: Arlington Avenue, Freemont Street, St. Patrick Street, Marcus Way and South 18th Street replacing approximately 1,962 feet of underground pipe. The project is expected to cost approximately $2.1 million.

Construction will occur between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. There may be temporary lane closures and detours during working hours only

Construction to take place until mid-fall.

Customers with indoor meters will have their meters relocated to the outside of the premises and their service lines replaced as well. This work will be done at no additional cost to the customer.

As part of the project, customers along the project scope may experience a temporary service interruption. Columbia Gas will personally contact these customers to schedule service restoration.

 All company and contract employees carry photo ID badges identifying them as Columbia Gas employees or contractors. Customers are encouraged to ask for ID before allowing anyone into their home or they can call 1-888-460-4332 for Columbia Gas employee verification.
