Planning Commission proposes text amendment

The City of Pittsburgh Planning Commission has initiated a Zoning Code Text amendment, proposing amendments to the Residential Compatibility and Operational Performance sections of the Zoning Code in order to provide clear, reasonable and enforceable noise performance standards, and so that they match the city’s nuisance noise standards in Title VI of the City Code.

These changes also provide improved and city-wide construction operation standards.

The proposed text amendment may be reviewed online at http://www.pittsburghpa.gov/dcp/notices and is available in paper copy at the Zoning Counter at 200 Ross Street, 3rd Floor. The paper copies may be examined between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m ., Monday through Friday, excluding city holidays.

City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed text amendments on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 414 Grant Street, 5th Floor.

To register to speak at a City Council Public Hearing, contact the City Clerk at 412-255-2138. Testimony is limited to three minutes. Those who do not register in advance will have the opportunity to address council after the list of registered speakers has been exhausted, and will be given one minute of testimony.

For additional information, visit http://www.pittsburghpa.gov/dcp/notices or email zoning@pittsburghpa.gov or call 412-255-2241 if additional information is necessary.
