Planning meeting for McKinley Park Jan. 25
Earlier this year the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy was awarded a Great Urban Parks Campaign grant for a McKinley Park Green Infrastructure project by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and American Planning Association (APA), one of four grants nationwide.
The project will target storm water management in the Chicken Hill area of McKinley Park and include recreational amenities, better access to wildlife, and accessibility.
The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy has chosen the landscape architecture firm Phronesis as lead designer on the project. There will be a series of public community meetings in 2017, the first on January 25 from 6-8 p.m. at the Delmont Shelter House in McKinley Park.
At this initial community meeting, the design team will present some conceptual designs and seek input from the community.
Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Those planning to attend are asked to register online at http://bit.ly/2heuYo0.
